Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper soaring over a crowded southern California shoreline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.
Recordings uploaded on the internet show the chopper beginning to twirl near the beach then descending near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a steps close to the coastal road.
First Aid Information
Local firefighters reported five people were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the street were injured. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
