The Brazilian star Offers Regret to The Madrid Club Devotees

Vinicius Jr has scored 5 strikes in 10 domestic competition outings this season.

Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his conduct when replaced in Sunday's fiery match against Barcelona victory.

The Brazilian was substituted in the second half and expressed his frustration by walking immediately off the pitch.

He later returned to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 win, tried to confront the opposition's Lamine Yamal during unsavoury post-match exchanges.

"This day I want to express regret to all the supporters for my reaction when I was substituted in the big match," Vinicius shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during today's training, I wish to express regret anew to my teammates, the team, and the leadership.

"Sometimes passion overcomes me because I always want to succeed and support my side. My determined nature comes from the affection I have for this institution and each thing it stands for."

The player signed for Madrid from his former club in 2018 for £38.7m and has accumulated 111 goals in 335 appearances.

But his future in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in the past few months stating that the club would think about letting the 25-year-old move on if they were to receive a appropriate bid.

When he was taken off on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn picked him up stating: "Again me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his most recent post on social media, Vinicius commented: "I promise to keep fighting at all times for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the first day."
