The UK airline will offer complimentary quick onboard wifi through satellite partnership

Flyers aboard the airline can soon enjoy fast connectivity onboard without charge following a new agreement from Elon Musk's satellite provider.

Free plus Fast Connectivity Available to Everyone

British Airways stated that this no-cost, “fast and dependable” internet provision through SpaceX is set to be available for travelers flying economy, business, and premium cabins from the coming month.

Expanded Rollout Over Multiple Flight Operators

The holding company of BA, IAG, stated it had finalized an agreement involving Starlink to offer wifi services across more than 500 planes operated by their airlines, which also include the Irish airline, Iberia, and the low-cost airline.

Uninterrupted Internet from Gate through Landing

The airline noted that the implementation of the technology was included in a multi-billion pound “upgrade” plan and would deliver smooth connectivity access to flyers from the gate through arrival, even when they are flying above oceans or far-off locations.

Customers may hook up several devices and do not have to use a separate login.

“Gamechanging for us as well as travelers, improving onboard service onboard our flights by giving them smooth connectivity throughout the flight.”

Current Connectivity Offerings

Limited connectivity service is presently available to BA passengers on the majority of its aircraft through the .air system.

Participants in the airline's reward scheme are able to send texts plus text-based messages onboard without paying, while travelers who want to access audio, video, or movies on the journey who are not flying in premium cabins can expect to be charged from four pounds ninety-nine and £21.99 per connectivity bundle.
